Demantoid Garnet (Andranit)

Demantoid is one of the most valuable gems in the Garnet Group. Demantoid in German means diamond-like.

This stone has a very high luster and is even brighter than diamonds in its quality. The reason for this radiance is the higher dispersion of diamonds than diamonds. For this reason, most of them are shaved as diamonds.

Andradite is the name of a famous Portuguese gemologist. Dementoid is a green rock from the Andradite group of garnet group.
This category of garnet is known as 3 rocks. Melanite is black and non-transparent, yellow is called Topazolit and its green is Demantoid.

Today, Russia's high quality reserves are almost at an end. The first dementoid stone was found in Russia of good quality.
The main sources of this rock: Russia, Zaire, Namibia.
It should be noted that there are many examples in Iran located in Kerman province of “Kuh-e-Gubri” region. But most of them are opaque and are mostly used in abrasive industries but good quality samples are also found which are related to Jiroft city and the Asfandaq region.
